There’s Something in the Catskills that Beckons to You
Ninety-eight peaks more than 3,000 feet high and covering more than 4,000 square miles, five major rivers, the Mohonk Preserve, Catskill Park, wild forests, crystal lakes, fertile valleys.  Clearly the major attraction of the Catskill region remains the spectacular unspoiled scenery.  No matter how you fill your days in the Catskills, you will be surrounded by cascading waterfalls, triumphant eagle aeries, meandering trout streams, and towering cliffs.

You can happen upon some of the many indigenous species in the wild, or you can seek them out in tamer settings – ‘safari’ through the Catskill Game Farm, or take a hayride among the exotic animals that live side by side with traditional farm animals at Healing Waters Farms. You can saddle up at a dude ranch, or soak up some expertise at the Catskill Fly Fishing Center and Museum.

Relive moments of illumination, discovery and ingenuity at the Hanford Mills Museum, the Stone Arch Bridge, Wurtsboro Airport, Fort Delaware, or the Empire State Railway Museum – each steeped in stories of our past.  If you prefer hands on activities, you will find them too - take some flight instruction, join in a gristmill workshop, ride the Delaware and Ulster excursion train.

If world-class culture and entertainment is what you seek, at The John Burroughs Memorial Homesite & Boyhood Rock immerse yourself in the life of America’s pioneering conservationist. Admire the fine art at the Chace-Randall Gallery, or stroll the New Paltz Harvest Festival and discover the next great artist.  Enjoy a musical night out with 12,000 of your closest friends at The Bethel Woods Performing Arts Center, or attend an alternative performance at an intimate theatre.

The kids will shriek with delight at  Zoom Flume Waterpark, or open their eyes in wonder on a Hudson River Cruise.  Even a picnic in the park builds lasting memories in the Catskills.
